Need Help with Migration this Sept.- Klein's Camp?

I am trying to change my plans and go in Sept. of this year. I called CC Africa and they believed that the Migration would be around Kliens camp in mid September. I had originally asked for the Mara during that time since I thought that was were it was suppose to be, but they said it would already be in Tanzania. I know that it is really luck, but does anyone have a guess. Klein's camp is on the expensive side and I don't really want to stay there if there is no chance of seeing the migration.
Thank you for any information

HLester3,
CCAfrica might be paying the wildebeest to tell them what their plans are - not that I think they have any plans yet for September… The best information for us without direct contact with the wildebeests is Eben’s Migration Maps.

The Mara is going to be pretty booked up for September. Anyone have any ideas on more reasonably priced places to stay that might have an opening?

I suggest you try another tour operator such as Southern Cross, Eastern and Southern or African Serendipity.

The Serena would be the best location, but it’s probably booked up. You could also try asking about Basecamp, Ilkeliani, Keekorok or Kichwa Tembo. Or, even more expensive, Olonana, Governor’s or Mara Intrepids.

i've been so many times in Mara during September & never missed the migration.
furthermore, in the first half of October there r still some herds at Mara...
Is an objective & knowledgeable source
gave u that info ???

Mara has so many lodges, there must be some cancellations. during September i'd take anywhere in Mara.
(What's more important IMO is that the Great Lawn Mower has done its job throughout the mara, lots of tommies r gathered at the mowed plains & this is the best time & chance to see Cheetah activity)
best of luck

Thank you. This is just the input that I was looking for. I have gotten in tough with a travel agent (other than CC Africa) and they to thought I should try the Mara. So I am keeping my fingers crossed that something will be available.
Thanks again. I hope this almost last minute trip comes together!!

However, it is bad when a travel agent tries to mislead you by providing the wrong information......

also, for the Mara, i hv been twice end August/first week Sept......the migration both times was right around the Governors camp area. On my second trip, we couldnt even land on the Governors airstrip, the vehicles had to chase the herds away. We finally landed after a longish wait circling around. However, it was awesome views!!!

Also try Serian www.serian.net
