Anyone Use Wonderful Tours?

I've been in touch with Wonderful Tour Safari Company and wanted to know if any one has used them? I want to go on a short 3 day 2 night, or a 2 day 1 night Safari in norhtern Tanzania and they seem to be reasonable and have gotten right back to me, but I've never heard of them. I was given their name by another tour operator. Please advise and also give me some names of some other reputable safari companies I could contact. Thanks for your help.

Never heard of Wonderful, but here are some companies that have been used by Fodorites that could work for a short Tanzania safari.

Africa Dream Safaris
Africa Travel Resource
Eastern & Southern Safaris
Gametrackers
Go2Africa
Good Earth
Roys
Serendipity
Southern Cross Safaris
WildTrek Safaris

You can search for info on these companies within this forum or google to get their contact info.

Enjoy your visit.

Thanks for the list of companies. I'm a little nervous going with a tour company no one has heard of. I will definately contact the ones on your list and get some prices. Thanks for your help.

atravelynn and wjsonl: I have contacted some of the safari companies you listed for me and am waiting for replies. I appreciate your input. I wish someone knew of Wonderful Tours, but so far no one on this site has heard of them. Like I said before, it makes me nervous to hook up with a company I know nothing about and no one else seems to either. Roy tours has a 2 day 1 night to the crater I may consider and leave it at that. Thanks for all your help.

I haven't used Roy Safaris, but they get great reviews on this board. I certainly wouldn't be afraid to use them. J

Suzanne,
Are they based in Tanzania? I couldn't find them listed on either the TATO website www.tatotz.org or the list of licensed outfitters http://www.tourismtanzania.go.tz/Doc...t%20Agents.pdf

That would make me somewhat uncomfortable booking with them (unless they aren't based in Tanzania which would explain why they're not on either list).

In addition to the above list of operators, Sunny Safaris is a well established budget operator in northern Tanzania that has gotten good reviews here and on the Lonely Planet Thorntree board.

Patty . . I just noticed that they actually call themselves Wonders of Creation Tours and Safaris Limited. I'm going to research that name on the two sites you looked on and see if they show up under this name. I won't book with them if I can't find out anything about them. It's just my daughter and I and I have no idea if anyone else will be with us or not, so that's a concern also. Thanks for looking for them. I'll post back here if I find anything about them
