I am really surprised at the lack of interest in my question. I am a longtime Fodorite but new to the Israel site. I could ask this question about France and get many replies. Please answer

You won't get many replies about France here either on the Africa board But seriously folks, come to think about it, I'd rather go to Israel than to those quiche eating surrender monkeys.

The Dead Sea is not to be missed! It's the LOWEST point on earth! The water is heavy with salt and tons of minerals, so heavy you keep floating. But it's also extremely healthy!

Otherwise, renting a car and driving thru the Negev desert down to Eilat on the Red Sea is also an interesting trip. Go there one way (Ramon crater) come back the other (Arava road)...

The Galillee is beautiful in April.

Jerusalem is magnificent!

BTW, you need to take in consideration that Israel is less popular than France, at least here, on this site, ita... Less people know Israel than France, what can you do...

Ita,
I believe I answered this question pretty thoroughly under a previous heading that you put out? You should go back and check the different threads you have started recently, you might find that you've gotten a lot of answers that you have not seen!!

Hard to limit it to 3.In addition to what others of mentioned I would add some of the more impressive archaeological sites such as Caesarea or Beit She'an. The Israel Museum. Do I need to mention the Western Wall? Masada. Tzfat (or Safed as the case may be). Aboulafia Bakery in Jaffo (and the galleries in Tel Aviv & Jaffo). Any seaside cafe in T.A. Banias in the north & Kahalat Nimrod. Oh the list goes on....

And I am embarassed that I did not include Yad Vashem which I truly think is something you cannot miss seeing, it is a profoundly affecting experience. It is very difficult to understand the foundation of the state of Israel without seeing the toll of the Holocaust.

UNESCO has a list of World Heritage sites.
Israel has some great ones.
Try:
1-The Old City of Jerusalem
2-Masada
3-Acre

An often overlooked attraction in Jerusalem is the "Time Elevator". I think it is on Agron St very near Ben Yehuda St. It is a thrill ride with a historical theme. Basically a simulator ride that takes you through Jerusalem's history, great fun for teens.
