This re-creation of the animated convenience store from The Simpsons is one of the park's most popular shopping stops. You'll find Kwik-E-Mart (Apu Nahasapeemapetilon, proprietor) caps and smocks, Duff Beer mugs, Lard Lad doughnuts, Marge-style blue bouffant wigs, and Homer T-shirts packaged in Duff Beer cans.

La Jolla Open Aire Market

La Jolla

Landmark Booksellers

There are so many rows of bookshelves filling out this snug bookstore, you’ll feel like you’re burrowing through tunnels of leather-bound volumes. Landmark Booksellers specializes in old, out-of-print, and rare books, but they have some new books, as well. You’ll find plenty of Southern Americana here, as well as books that focus on regional history, culture, and literature. And all 35,000 books are nestled inside the oldest standing commercial building in Franklin (built in 1808). It’s a bibliophile’s dream.

Las Cosas Kitchen Shoppe & Cooking School

West of the Plaza

In DeVargas shopping center, Las Cosas Kitchen Shoppe stocks a fantastic selection of cookery, tableware, and kitchen gadgetry and gifts. The shop is also renowned for its cooking classes taught by local personality chef Johnny Vee, which touch on everything from high-altitude baking and northern New Mexican specialties to gnocchi workshops and Vietnamese street food. For those looking to really up their culinary game, Johnny Vee also offers regular classes on techniques such as braising, grilling, and fundamentals including knife skills and pressure cooking. Classes are Tuesday and Friday night, as well as Saturday morning. If you've got a tight schedule or a big group, Las Cosas and chef Johnny are happy to schedule something just for you.

When you spy a LEGO sea serpent in the lagoon, you know you're in the right place for a LEGO shopping spree. Large, elaborate sculptures and piles of colorful bricks welcome children, who generally head straight to hands-on play tables and begin work on toy castles, cars, and pirate ships. At the Pick-A-Brick Wall, kids can create anything from a Star Wars spaceship to a miniature Sydney Opera House. Be sure to snap a photo with oversize character models like Woody and Buzz Lightyear. One of Atlanta's oldest and most popular shopping centers, Lenox Square has branches of Neiman Marcus, Bloomingdale's, and Macy's next to specialty shops such as Cartier and Mori. Valet parking is available at the front of the mall, but free parking is nearby. You'll do better at one of the several good restaurants in the mall—even for a quick meal—than at the food court.

Lodgepole Market Center

You'll find gifts, toys, books, souvenirs, and outdoor equipment in Sequoia National Park's largest store. Its grocery department has a fairly wide selection of items, some of them organic, including grab-and-go items for hikes and picnics. Across the hall is a café with various dishes for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

Los Rios Rancho

In operation since 1906, Los Rios apple farm is home to a fantastic country store where you can buy jams, syrups, and candied apples. Drop by the bakery for a hot tri-tip sandwich before heading outside to the picnic grounds to enjoy your lunch. In fall, you can pick your own apples and pumpkins, take a hayride, or enjoy live bluegrass music. In the summer, the farm hosts free Movies on The Green, as well as Old West Weekend—a three-day festival where you can experience 19th-century living on America's frontier.

If you're bored with the handful of colors you normally find in a pack of M&Ms, head to this impressively large store, which is filled with candies in hues that include maroon, silver, white, dark blue, midnight black, and every shade in between. In addition to a candy counter filled with a dazzling range of sweets there are shelves and displays stacked with M&M–themed merchandise including golf balls, baby clothes, apparel, and accessories. You may need an insulin shot after this one.

MacGregor Orchard

The rustic stand offers a selection of fruits grown on their farm, such as peaches, blackberries, pears, apples, and raspberries. Owners Julia and Stephens Gregory make the jams and ciders that fill the shelves.

Hop off I–10 at Exit 203 to head to this shopping and dining district filled with more than 50 locally owned specialty shops, salons, cafés, and restaurants. Hearth & Soul (home goods and clothing), Narcissus (boutique), and Coton Colors (local giftware) are popular, as are many other stores in smaller area enclaves. No worries: most are within easy walking distance of one another. The district is slightly west of Thomasville Road at the intersection of Timberlane Road and Market Street.
