Fodor's Expert Review Ear Inn

SoHo Bars/Pubs

Since the early 1800s, this watering hole (at one time also a bordello) has been a sturdy New York landmark in a rapidly changing downtown. For those imbibers who prefer a pint of Guinness over the latest cocktail fads, the long wooden bar offers a cozy, unhurried place to raise a glass and rub elbows with New Yorkers. The benches outside are also a perfect spot to relax in the warmer weather, and live music and readings three times a week evoke the bar's artistic heritage.
