Lambertville House

$$ | 32 Bridge St., Lambertville, NJ, 08530, USA

A former stagecoach stop dating to 1812, this distinctive stone-and-brick building on Lambertville's main drag maintains a traditional ambience but has modern comforts in its updated rooms. All guest rooms have jetted tubs and are filled with period reproductions, and most have gas fireplaces, though they are not usable May through September. Three have a two-sided fireplace that can be enjoyed from bedroom and tub. In several rooms, balconies overlook a courtyard where guests gather for drinks, and the porches in two allow you to watch the activity on the main street. Because there are many different kinds of rooms, it's good to check the website and ask questions. The restaurant and bar has an inviting outdoor porch on Bridge Street that's open seasonally.

Pros

  • Robes in rooms
  • Steps from shops, restaurants, and the bridge to New Hope
  • The hotel's porch, overlooking Bridge Street

Cons

  • Not for those who want a secluded location
  • No in-house breakfast, but restaurants are steps away
  • Parking lot may not accommodate all guests (lots are nearby)

Lambertville Station Inn

$$$ | 11 Bridge St., Lambertville, NJ, 08530, USA

The \"station\" in this riverside hotel's name refers to the restaurant, in an 1867 stone building, but the hotel itself, tucked away from the street in the heart of town, is modern with a comfortably traditional vibe. The lobby's soaring wood ceiling and wall of antique portraits set a timeless tone. Guest rooms have classic, mostly neutral furnishings, and some have a blue accent wall. The pricier rooms and suites have sitting areas and gas fireplaces. All but three have some kind of river view because the inn is set at right angles to the Delaware. Complimentary continental breakfast is delivered to rooms.

Pros

  • Modern rooms, most with some river view, near the heart of town
  • Pretty sunsets over the Delaware River
  • Bike rentals available

Cons

  • No fitness room, but hotel partners with one nearby
