Ice-Skating
Ice-skating in Québec City is a popular pastime for locals and visitors alike. In addition to rinks in town, Village Vacances Valcartier (see Snow Slides), just outside Québec City, offers skating trails with lighting and sound systems.
Place d'Youville. This well-known outdoor rink, just outside St-Jean Gate, is open daily October through the end of March, from noon to 10 pm. Skate rental is C$8, and skating itself is free. A locker will run you C$1. Québec City, Québec. 418/641–6256.
Plains of Abraham. The sports field at the western end of Battlefields park features a large skating rink. Montcalm, Québec City, Québec. Free. Skate rental C$8 for 2 hrs.
