Fodor's Expert Review Juno Bistro

$ Downtown Japanese

Editor's Note: This location is no longer in operation.

In a city known for its Japanese food, this tiny storefront restaurant is a good choice for classic sushi and sashimi, and contemporary izakaya-style small plates. The yam poutine is a cross-cultural mash-up of sweet potato fries topped with mozzarella cheese and teriyaki gravy, while the fish used in the salmon gyozas is wild, and the birds used for the crispy chicken kara-age are free range. Sushi fans should ask about the specials; it's usually an interesting raw fish option.
