Big Blue Unlimited. This ecotour operator got its start offering dive excursions in 1997, but has since widened its scope considerably. Big Blue has several educational kayak ecotours to choose from, as well as the very popular stand-up paddleboard (SUP) safari tours as an alternative, though they don't cover quite as much territory as the kayak tours. Big Blue also has outposts on Middle, North, and South Caicos, with an extensive network of guides, bikes, kayaks, and boats, so they are able to offer a number of interactive ecotourism excursions for those wishing to learn more about what Turks and Caicos has to offer. Private charters up to a maximum of 12 passengers may incorporate a snorkeling adventure to the reef off the outer islands or on the Caicos Banks near French Cay and West Caicos. They are also the only operator offering excursions to the pristine coral reefs surrounding South Caicos. As their latest foray, they are now also recognized for their outstanding kiteboarding and kitesurfing instruction, downwinders, and kite safaris. The Cabrinha Kite and Board gear is used for both instruction and rentals. Leeward Marina, Marina Rd., Leeward, Providenciales, TKCA 1ZZ. 649/946–5034; www.bigblueunlimited.com.

Small groups are led along winding roads, on tracks cut through the brush, and down pristine natural beaches on the northwest end of the island to discover a side of Provo you could not otherwise get to know—all while having loads of fun. There's a small eatery where you "saddle up" and can grab a bite before or after your adventure, or pick up a cold drink to enjoy along the way. Note that you must be 18 years of age with a valid form of identification to rent the ATV, but only 12 years old to ride.
