Tidal River Accommodation

$ | 1 Ring Rd., VIC, 3960, Australia

Tidal River has a range of accommodation, from self-contained cabins to rustic huts, modern units, and campsites in bushland settings. The most romantic are its wilderness retreats, glamping safari tents with a queen bed, timber floors, deck, and fridge. Prebooking is essential, and booking early is advised—over the busy Christmas/New Year period, every campsite and hut is booked up to six months in advance. The accommodation is a few minutes' walk to the crystalline waters and spectacularly long, sandy strip of Norman Beach. Hikers may opt to stay at one of the three cottages in the historic Wilsons Promontory Lightstation, a six-hour, 19 km (11 mile) walk from Tidal River.

Pros

  • Close to the shop and visitor center
  • Barbecues and picnic tables
  • Vivid birdlife

Cons

  • A car is essential
  • Shared bathrooms for tents and huts
  • Bring-your-own linens for some options
