If you’re planning a romantic getaway with your significant other, there are certain destinations you should definitely avoid—if you want to still be together post-vacation, that is. A new study from travel booking site Sunshine has pinpointed the destinations most likely to cause couples to split.
So if you’re envisioning canoodling in Mexico, Ibiza, or Portugal, it might be time to reconsider those plans. According to the study couples that choose first-time vacations to destinations that are bigger “splurges” or involve a lot of “frivolous spending … spells future trouble for relationships,” according to Chris Clarkson, Sunshine’s managing director. Maybe play it safe with a road trip or a low-key staycation.
But if you do happy to return from vacation with heartache as a souvenir you can always overcome your sorrows with a heartbreak bootcamp.
