Now in its fifth year, the Red Bull Music Academy Festival comes to New York City featuring big-name musical acts with a twist.
This is not your average music festival—RBMAF’s lineup includes original programming presented in unique ways and in unexpected venues. The festival eschews the traditional music festival approach of a weekend of shows all in an enormous temporary event space in favor of museums and warehouses. The acts are also surprising, ranging from dance performances to a 10-hour ambient music experience to conversations with pioneering experimental music icons.
Events include a dance performance by Solange at the Guggenheim Museum, a rapping piano bar show with Gucci Mane and Zaytoven, and a conversation with Werner Herzog at the Met. The festival runs from April 29 to May 21, with one event per day. For more information and to purchase tickets, visit the festival website.
