#NotBadNews: How to Quarantine Like a Professional Homebody

It’s another week of #NotBadNews and today we’re bringing you a socially-distanced conga line, a sitcom wedding, and a fun-girl’s face mask.

Welcome to #NotBadNews, our new (and hopefully short-lived) daily column where we round up the good, surprising, and weird things that have happened around the world during this coronavirus pandemic.

The (Shade of) Red Sea

As Mumbai has slowed down and residents have locked-down, a new visitor has arrived to the Indian city. Flamingos have flocked to the town, creating a “sea of pink.”

These flamingos have been found in wetlands where they were, for a long time, rarely seen. The city’s current lack of pollution has made Mumbai a hot-spot destination for these migrating flamingos.

While Mumbai’s streets may be empty for the first time in a while, the waters are more crowded than ever.

Martha Stewart and Her Gardener Are a Thing of Quarantine Envy

The crafter and cook has not exactly used quarantine as an excuse to rest—in fact, Martha Stewart has taken to Instagram to show us just how busy she has kept herself. In need of a lawn mow? Martha’s got you covered.

Martha can continue running her delicious and successful garden, I’m going to continue calling remembering to water my single plant a win!

The Wedding Straight out of a Sitcom

Two fans of The Office decided to tie the knot, and there was really only one way it could go down—a tribute to the show they not only loved but that also inspired the proposal!

John Krasinski invited the two on his show Some Good News to discuss the proposal and wedding plans…and reveal that he got ordained. The couple and host were then joined by the cast of The Office, giving them the bride and groom-to-be a chance to recreate their favorite TV moment.

“I do!”

That’s what she said.

Well, That’s One Way to Make a Face Mask

How can you swig alcohol straight from the bottle while still wearing your mask? One woman saw this problem with our current face masks and stepped up to the challenge. This is every party-girl’s new favorite accessory.

While we’re sure the intent was to create a mask to more generally drink from, we love how it’s actually being put to use. Oh, there’s still no end to quarantine in sight? Well then, I’d like one of these face masks and a bottle of your strongest liquor.

Celebrities, They’re Just Like Us

Unlike us, however, their mistakes are caught on camera for all to laugh at. When new couple Ben Affleck and Ana de Armas got locked out of their Los Angeles home after taking a walk, they had to get creative. And by creative, we mean jump the fence.

We’ve all been there, we just haven’t all been caught on camera doing it. Thank you, Oscar-winner Ben Affleck, for reminding us that even celebrities slip up (and for giving us a good laugh).

The Safety Dance

To celebrate VE Day 75, residents of Grappenhall, England headed to the streets to celebrate, though not in a traditional way. This neighborhood celebrated in what they considered to be the safest way to push the boundaries. Sure, they all got together to dance, but they kept six-feet apart.

These residents were able to follow the rules all while finding a way to celebrate as a community. When celebration meets safety, you get this social-distanced dance party!

Check-in every day for an update on the wonderful and weird things happening in our current coronavirus world.
