I chose a type of bream from he display of fish and it was excellent. 75 euro per kilo seems to be the going rate around here. This grilled fish, which I had trouble finishing,, cost 28.50 euro and came with those lovely roasted potatoes. Total bill for two=58 euro, with wine and water and coper to. Recommend.

While menus in Savelletri concentrate on fish and shellfish, a few miles inland the focus turns to meat dishes, with the nearby town of Cisternino being famous for their local grilled meats, including sausage and "bombetti". This sausage might be the best I've ever tasted, and the roasted potatoes were also great.
