Berkshire restuarants

I did a search, but cannot find the info.

We are going soon to the Berkshires, and need a restuarant in both Williamstown and Stockbridge.

Can anyone who has been there recently give an opinion on:

The Orchards - Williamstown
Red Lion Inn - Stockbridge

Thanks

It's been 2 or 3 years, but we've eaten at the Red Lion--pretty dining room and very good food. Reserve well in advance. $$$

Mezzze is the name of the restaurant in Williamstown the other poster was talking about. MAJOR attitude - everyone working there desperately wants to be in NYC, and they're way ruder than any New Yorker I've ever met (I'm one of them myself). But they keep it in check just enough for me to go back - the food really is spectacular. It's on Water Street, just east of the college, off route 2.

The Orchards - do NOT go there. The food was mediocre and it gave me food poisoning and would not do anything about it - not even refund just my entree.

The Thai Restaurant is called Thai Garden and it's on Spring Street - the "main drag" of Williamstown, in the heart of the campus. The food is very good, but I think of it as more of a lunch place - it is definetly not upscale!

Other great places -
- Hobson's Choice - further down on Water Street - great meats and seafood and a great salad bar
- Mill on the Floss - on route 7 - about a 12 minute drive from the center of town, but one of my favorite restaurants ever.

Thanks, Mezza is phonetics for Mezze ? LOL
I seldom notice attitudes unless they actually yell at me or throw things.

Here's another vote for Mezza; the food is outstanding. I didn't notice any "attitudes."

The Red Lion Restaurant is quite good, which is a surprise since the Inn looks frayed around the edges these days! (...and the RL is the ONLY place to eat in Stockbridge). We absolutely love the Old Mill Inn in Egremont!
Enjoy

We just returned, and we went to the Yasmin restaurant at The Orchards Hotel, in Williamstown, which we felt was excellent. Also ate at Red Lion Inn, which was disappointing. Thanks for all your replies.
