Yosemite visit

Going to Yosemite in three weeks looking for any and all suggestions. Staying in Bass Lake close to Southern entrance.

The south entrance is open. Mariposa Grove will be closed until fall 2017.

We are using our timeshare for a week in Bass Lake. Do you think Glacier Peak rd
will be, or is open.? Anything around Wawona you would recommend? We will be going into the Valley a couple of times, one for the Starry night.

Oh -- that makes a huge difference. I assume you are trading for it.

No, Glacier Point (not 'Peak') road isn't open. In fact they are getting more snow as we speak . . .

From Bass Lake consider heading down the hill and exploring the Hwy 49 Gold Rush country

Also - partly depending on the weather we have between now and then - you may be required to show you are carrying chains to enter the Park.

Wow! Thanks for the update janisj! We are going May 14th-20th. I did see, after I posted, that Glacier Pt is closed, thanks to Tom for the website. Crazy Winter in California. We've spent a little time on Hwy 49 in the past and will be prepared to re-visit. Any favorite places on Hwy 49 you like? We also have a timeshare in Angels Camp so we've been up there before. As always thanks for any advice.

Hey Sludick - Yes, Worldmark, bought it on a Monday Madness deal and thought that by May it would be all melted. Guess I'm getting that one wrong LOL. Has anyone been to Mono Hot Springs? Looking in the area for other things to do.

They've ploughed a single lane to the Glacier Point parking lot. The snow in the lot is eight feet deep.

gailscout: You might be OK -- the snow is a little lighter the farther south you go. Chains were required on I-80 this morning but down Yosemite way it was mostly rain.
