Yosemite Trip - March
Thinking of going to Yosemite at the end of March for a honeymoon trip. Any advise? What's the weather like at that time of year and any recommendations on lodging (prefer to rent a house or condo) and restaurants.
Thanks!
Thanks!

The weather will likely be cool and wet - maybe some snow. For houses and condos, I would check out Yosemite West, which is accessed through the park and not far from the valley, but the property isn't actually on park land. I think this is the closest lodging of this type that you will find to the valley.

The Ahwahnee Hotel is very nice for a great meal on your honeymoon trip. We were there on New Year's Day for brunch. The Wawona Hotel is also another nice place for a meal in Yosemite. Congrats and have fun! ***kim***

First trip to Yosemite was in late March, many yrs ago. We fell in love w/it so much, that we later married there. (in May)
Falls are heavier in May & there are more flowers, perhaps, but an advantage to March is it will be quieter. (unless it's Spring break time which this year won't be 'til April)
We have very mild weather...sun & Spring-like temps. Went another year around April 7th & had a beautiful snow! (while there) Later heard it had been Spring-like & in the 70's just a week or so before. (like our earlier experience there in March)
So you may find yourself lucky. Can watch forecasts as time approaches & if it looks like it will be poor weather...the lodges there in the Valley at least have pretty generous cancellation polices. (48-72 hrs)
Can't help you w/condo/house ideas, as we always prefer to stay on the Valley Floor itself...even tho' that means simpler accomodations for the money.
Just feel you can't beat waking up w/all that grandeur surrounding you! (not needing to commute in & out)
However, I've seen one place mentioned a lot of times here, as being nice, and not a bad drive. Maybe 20 minutes, which is on a river. Forget its name...maybe Yosemite View?
The Wawona is supposed to be historic & cute. (if coming from the South)
Worth a stop, lunch, or similar, at least. If not coming from the South...
don't miss at least one meal at the Ahwahnee. People dispute the food as far as whether it's overly special. BUT...it has such a cool atmosphere.
If wanting to splurge...do a Sunday brunch there. Or, a nice dinner.
If wanting to have it nice & quiet & more average in prices, consider a leisurely lunch. (feels indulgent eating in such a spot for lunch!)
And you can see what all the 'fuss' is about outside its windows, when dining there during the day.
Enjoy!!
