Yosemite to San Simeon - best route

We will leave Yosemite around 9:00 on Monday morning (Sept. 20) and drive to San Simeon. I want to book a tour of Hearst Castle but need to know how long the trip will take so I know what time to schedule a tour for.

What is the best route? We want to leave Yosemite via the tunnel as we will enter Yosemite from the entrance closest to Oakland.

Not knowing where you are starting from nor where you want to end up, I plugged in Yosemite Village and Cambria into Mapquest.

According to Mapquest, it'll take you approximately 5 hours. The distance is about 230 miles.

It's pretty much of a straight shot on Highway 41 until Highway 46. You take Highway 46 all the way to the ocean, to Cambria.

Highway 41 is a State Highway and Highway 46 is a pretty good road where you are catching it. You shouldn't run into much traffic but there may be farming tractors that sometimes use the two lane highways and so may slow you down a bit. I'd suggest padding the travel time a bit and make it six hours.
