Yosemite in June

I am planning on surprising my husband with a trip to Yosemite. However, I have never been there and I have been looking into lodging. I would like to keep it around $100/night. It appears that much of the lodging around there is sold out. Do you have any suggestions? Any other information would be helpful. I have been looking over past postings and I have learned some, but anything would be helpful.

thanks!

Finding lodging in Yosemite for June could be a tall order since things fill up so quickly. I would look for lodging in El Portal or Mariposa.

Yes, after some investigation, I see that. Now, I think I can pull it off in mid-March. Will it still be snowy?

The high country-Tuolumne meadows-will be closed, but the Valley won't likely be snowy (techincally, anything can happen, but it will probably be lovely).
Check Yosemite West for lodging in privately owned vacation homes and condos. They have a web site and a number of reasonably prices lodgings in a good location. If you don't mind only seeing the Valley, then March is great, less crowded than June, but if you'd hoped to see the high country, see if you can find a place at Yosemite West.

Usually Expedia has rooms at Yosemite View Lodge in El Portal. Beautiful area outside of the park with a shuttle connection to the valley, if needed. I don't know about the prices, though.

Staying in the Valley is a little more expensive than the $100 per night but IMHO worth it for the views. If you keep checking back you might beable to get a room when someone else cancels.

Yay - have a terrific time. Yosemite is absolutely beautiful and in March, the crowds should be minimal. Your weather could be iffy, but that's ok. Just watch the weather report before you go and pack accordingly. Unless spring comes really late this year, the waterfalls should really be flowing nicely in March.
