Yellowstone with dog? need advice

Kristen123, Not unless you carry a gun. I am from Montana and although the park looks pretty and peaceful it is filled with deadly animals. Dogs and children attract bears, wolves and mountain lions. Whom ever tells you I am wrong has either been lucky or does not live in the area.
With your logic, it would be wise to carry a gun if you have children too. What about food, it attracts bears and wild animals?
Personally, I don't relish the idea of everyone carrying a gun. I would worry more about getting hit with a bullet meant for a bear then getting attacked! There are other ways to stay safe.
We use to bring our dog, but we had an RV to leave them in while we went off for a while. It really limited the time we could spend away from the campsite, but we didn't have any problems. I would not leave a dog in a car/truck because it can get to hot to fast.
