Yellowstone - how's the drinking water?

We're going to Grand Teton and Yellowstone NPs next week. I know that sometimes water in geothermal areas can taste odd - minerally, etc.

How is the water in Yellowstone?

Thanks! We're really looking forward to our time there.

I just got back. The water is fine - glacier water from what I was told. I come from an area with very soft water so my skin and hair were very dry. But although different, the water tasted ok - much better than the bottled water we had. Have a.great time!! We had an incredible 7 days!!!

Thanks, christabir! I'd rather not buy bottled water if I don't have to - tap water is fine with us.

We bought a gallon of bottled water and used aluminum bottles we brought from home for the first few days but the tap water tasted better than the bottled. Just use lots of conditioner and body lotion!! I got a pretty good sunburn (I don't tan) so bring sunscreen, too. I will get a trip report together soon for our almost perfect vaca.

We live in New Mexico, so we're used to using lots of conditioner and sunscreen, and we already drink a lot of water. Thanks for the reminder, though!
