Yellowstone - Email Access

I hate to even ask this: There may be an emergency situation at my work while I am staying in Yellowstone Park and I need to know if there is Internet Access anywhere in the park. Thanks for your help

Well, if you have a laptop...
We were able to use dialup in Old Faithful Inn and Mammoth Lodge. Just ask at the front desk.

You do need a laptop. There was a phone for dial up available in the registration areas of Old Faithful Snow Lodge and the Canyon Lodge. I imagine that's true for the other villages as well but call the main reservation # to confirm: 307.344.7311.

We had a similar situation when visiting last week. Additionally you can be reached in an emergency as long as your caller knows which accommodation you're visiting. A handwritten message will be delivered to your door.

Thanks for the info - I called reservations and the only place we will be able to comfortably check email is in our room at Snow Lodge (Canyon only has phones in the hall). So I am just going to hope the cell phone will get a signal. I am also leaving my itenerary. Thanks again!

What kind of cell service do you have? Sprint didn't work for us anywhere in Wyoming. Someone told us the common carrier there is Verizon.

Regarding the Canyon facilities, if you only need to be able to download email or send some, I'll say we had no problem doing so there in the registration lobby particularly in the early morning. There weren't many people waiting to use the phone and those doing so were considerate of time constraints of the remote location. Obviously this won't apply for you if you need to be able to send/receive on a real time basis.

We have Verizon for cell and got nada in the park and most of Wyoming. One guy who seemed to be getting something had a very local service. Our cell calls were not important ones. Hope it works out differently for you or that your work issues dissolve before your trip.

We also have Verizon and had good results in Lake Tahoe earlier this month, but you are always at the mercy of the towers. My boss has told me not to worry about anything while we are in the park (3 days) and I have decided to do that. Wow, a real old fashion vacation
