Is June a good time to go to Yellowstone & Tetons?
Is it warm enough for river rafting?
Is it better to stay in the parks, or in nearby
towns? Any suggestions appreciated on nice lodging
(but not super expensive).
If we have 10 days, how should we split it up
between Yellowstone and Tetons?
Should we stay in different parts of Yellowstone?

The Yellowstone Lodge, near the west entrance to the park, is very nice.

June is a beautiful time to visit Yellowstone and the Tetons. The air is still crisp, and the season is still fresh.

The river water you will be floating in was snow a few days earlier, so it will be cold stuff.

Is it better to stay in the parks? I think staying in the park if fun the first time or two you visit either place. However, if you don't already have a reservation now for a room inside Yellowstone, you will take what you can get. My guess is that the preferred places like the Old Faithful Snow Lodge is sold out for June, July, and August and the first week of September.

If Kim had reference to the Lake Yellowstone Lodge, it is more than 50 miles from the west entrance. It is much closer to the east entrance.

I just did a cursory check on the Snow Lodge and on Old Faithful Lodge and Cabins. Zero availability.

So before you start thinking how you are going to split your time between the two parks, and where you are going to spend it, I think you first need to reserve a place to sleep at night.

Now I am assuming thast you mean June of 2002!!
