Yadkin Valley/Surry County Wine
I am looking for some high quality wineries in the NC Yadkin Valley Wine AVA to visit with friends and need help. I know Jones Von Drehle is a good one and Raffaldini looks like a good prospect, but am lost other than that. We know TripAdvisor’s best is untrustworthy as to best quality and I have found no guidance in the wine press. NC wines can skew to the overly sweet and unappealing side of the taste continuum so I need help. Can anyone with experience weigh in? To gauge my taste, I love Napa and Sonoma wines, like by Pride, Duckhorn and it’s portfolio of properties, and Stag’s Leap. In VA I have found Gabriele Rausse, Michael Shaps Wineworks, and Barboursville Vineyard to be wonderful. And among other non-US wines, I love Portuguese and Italian whites and reds, as well as French wines in most regions. Thank you in advance.

I know you can google as well as I can but the link has pretty good information. We have enjoyed the Childress winery and have enjoyed Rag Apple Lassie wines at tastings.

AND for sure go to Lexington for some true NC BBQ . Lexington#1 is "recommended"!! Also there is a BBQ in Dobson that is really good--can't call the name.
