Wynn or The Bellagio ?

Have been to the Bellagio on 3 previous stays and loved it each time. Considering Wynn for a stay next month, was wondering if those who have stayed at both would give an opinion.

Might ultimately end up spending 2 nights at each, but we're not excited about packing and moving.

Does Wynn have a lounge similar to Fontana's at the Bellagio, with great entertainment for the price of a drink.

Thanks.

I'd ask yourself how much you ventured out of the Bellagio and where you went if you did. One major drawback of Wynn is that it is a bit of a trek to other hotels and casinos compared to the central strip location of Bellagio.

Yes, the Bellagio is better situated.

At the Wynn we had great martinis in a lounge featuring a Sinatra-want-to-be. He was good, but not great. Maybe somebody great will be there when you are in town.

The Wynn struck me as being fancy-schmancy, in the full meaning of the term.

I REALLY wanted to like Wynn's. The Bellagio under Steve Wynn's leadership was just an outstanding hotel. To me, Bellagio has clearly slipped and they are attracting a younger, less refined clientele. (Especially since Light opened.)

But, it's pretty clear that Wynn's is an attempt to create the magic he found when he developed Bellagio. Unfortunately, it isn't quite the same.

We stayed recently at Wynn's and I was pretty surprised at having a clearly worn out carpet, fingerprint marks on the bathroom door, dust on some of the fixtures, and walls that were shockingly thin. Clearly, the higher construction costs with Wynn's due to increases in material costs led to them cutting corners. For example, bathrooms that shared ventilation. So, when the person in the room next door was finished with their business, we were quite aware of this.

Now, I think the people who worked there were terrific and the bars and lounges are great. The food at the restaurants was excellant, though the service was a bit lacking. (That could be a sympton elsewhere in Vegas with the growth as we had bad service at other establishments outside Wynn's)

On our next trip, we'd probably opt for Bellagio again. The positives - like location - outweigh the negatives. But, if Bellagio was sold out, I wouldn't be disappointed if we stayed at Wynn's. It's not bad. But, it isn't Bellagio circa 1999 when Mr. Wynn ran it.

We love the Bellagio and have always stayed there since our first visit. Having said that we have been going to LV quite often...at first it was every 6 months then every 3 then now we go every 6-8 weeks. When we first visited LV, we visited every hotel and casino. Now after all our visits, we really don't leave the Bellagio and vacinity very much. We venture over to CP and across the street sometimes. We went to Wynn to spend the day. I can describe it as a smaller red Bellagio...I am not a critic, but it seems to be trying too hard. Also the only hotel/casino close to the Wynn is the Venetian. If there was not a Bellagio, they Wynn would be great, but there is and it's still grand. The location of the Bellagio can't be beat, it's nice to be able to walk to CP or go the The Eiffel Tower for dinner...and besides, we always win at the Bellagio. last month we come home over $15,000 richer than when we left.

I just returned from a business trip to Las Vegas and visited Wynn since I had not seen it on my previous trips. I was very disappointed. The casino felt as if the energy had been sapped out of it. No one was playing the slots, the minimums on the tables were $25 and the dealers were not very friendly.

Given the distance from the other casinos, I will probably not return.

Hi..
I have stayed 3 times at the Wynn and have always had a wonderful time there and the rooms are lovely and new and I have never had a problem with the Hotel..The Food is excellent..service has its moments but I think that check in is the worst..
I love the Bellagio and you can't go wrong with the gorgeous Hotel and location.. I like staying at the Wynn and gambling elsewhere..it is a hike and after a couple of cocktails and the construction across the street and the smallest sidewalk in the world next to crazy traffic..
Depends on the deal..
I know that the Wynn had deals on resort rooms for $159 a night which is a great deal and the pool and the grounds are stunning..
Are you going over Memorial Day weekend?
Wishing you all the best!

I live in vegas and have stayed at both. The Bellagio rates the best. We are regulars at The Fontana Bar. There is no place like it in Vegas. Stay at Bellagio and visit the rest.

Stayed at Wynn less than 2 weeks ago. The registration area was a mass of confusion. I received very warm welcomes both times I stayed at Bellagio. The room we were given at Wynn was great. It was on the 60th floor overlooking the strip. Watching the sunset from the bed was magical.

I like Bellagio's pool area better. Bellagio has more space. The lounges at Bellagio IMO are better. When Wynn first opened they had a great lounge singer(s) in the Parasail Up Bar, now they just play techno music. So, to answer your question, Bellagio has the better lounges.

I really wouldn't waste time moving from hotel to hotel for just a short time. Since you've been to Bellagio 3x, why not give Wynn a try? On second thought, if you're not driving, stay at Bellagio.

Thanks for all the great replies, we're convinced, it's back to the Bellagio. The location, fountains and Fontana are the deal breakers or is that deal makers.

We'll visit Wynn on this trip and re-evaluate the Bellagio. If we find the Bellagio disappoints, we'll stay at Wynn next time.
