If you are going to get a ticket, be prepared for a good walk to the South Street Seaport to pick it up - its not as close as some news reports have led people to believe.

What?!?!? Merchandise saying "I survived the World Trade Center"?!?!? I guess I won't be going downtown any time soon as, if I saw someone selling something like that, I might be inclined to rip his/her heart out.

As a native NYer, if I see anyone wearing something like that they should run.... and run fast.

Oh my gosh... I am a really liberal person, with a pretty out there sense of humor.. but the thing about the hats.. utterly shameful!.. it is certainly not a joke nor should people make jokes out of it.
As for the viewing platform. I think that for many people living away from NYC, there is a natural desire to see it and be moved by it, to pay respects. Though personally I can't imagine someone being so tasteless as to display disrespectful behavior while viewing the WTC.. I think it's sad that there probibly are people out there who will. I would venture to hope that the majority of people who come to view it do so with sadness and profound respect, as I would should I visit.
