If they do rebuild how hard will it be to rent out the space? Will people be willing to work there again??

Anyone can appreciate that many Americans could be fearful now of working in a tall tower, and that it might be difficult to evacuate, etc. However I think the WTC was struck because it was a SYMBOL, not because it was 110 stories. If Bin Laden and his followers hate us because of our wealth and the influence of U.S. wealth on the Arab countries, the WTC was the ultimate symbol of U.S. wealth. The targets struck that day were to be extremely visible, demoralizing spectacles. Not so many humans would have been killed by a plane crashing into the White House, but we would shake at the sight of it. Bringing the WTC down is more shocking than, say, crashing two jetliners into the heart of Manhattan, but the death count might have been as high, or higher had they done so. As it said in the Post today, a private plane sprinkling anthrax spores over D.C. would have been more devastating. The WTC was a statement. Let's make our own statement. Build them again, as a symbol that we cannot be brought down.
