Wrigley Field Restaurants

My husband, 14 year old son and I are going to a Cubs game on a Friday afternoon in May. We would love to get lunch before the game. Any ideas for lunch in the Wrigley Field area? We are looking for pizza, burgers, hot dogs, etc. Thanks, Cheryl

Sbarra, Wrigleyville has lots of places to eat. However, most of them are sports bars/bars/pubs/etc.

If you don't mind a little walk, there is Melrose Restaurant at the corner of Melrose and Broadway that has a large menu and an outdoor eating area. (That would be about 6 blocks from the ballpark--4 north to Addison and 2 west to the ballpark.)

The Wiener Circle in Lincoln Park is further away from Wrigley (on N. Clark) but is considered one of the best Chicago-style hotdogs. (These are char-grilled.) There is absolutely NO atmosphere here -you just order your dog (or burger) and eat outside on picnic tables. Once you are done eating there, just grab the #22 NB Clark Street bus--stops right at Wrigley Field.

Maybe these might be of help to you.

There are plenty of good eats in the Wrigley area. Go to Metromix.com for a full search. My reccomendations:

Goose Island: brew pub
Tuscany: sit down Italian - next to the field
Tango Sur - Agentinian - not sure if open for lunch
Cullens - irish - great food
Heaven on Seven - cajun

Sbarra, I know that Heaven on Seven (creole/cajun) does allow minors; however, you'd really have to check on some of the others suggested as they are sports bars.

Tango Sur, although it's a great place, isn't open for lunch except for Sundays.
