Wrightsville Beach NC

Are there many hotels on Wrightsville Beach?
I am just starting to research the area. We want to stay 3 nights on a beachfront hotel somewhere between Morehead City and Wilmington. I would like to be in a area where there is the beach, restaurants, shopping, touristy. Not looking for a quiet, relaxing area. Will be doing that at another time. Is Wilmington Beach just a beach or does it have beachfront hotels? Thanks

What time of year? Most accommodations have seven night minimums between Memorial Day and Labor Day.

Wrightsville Beach has beaucoups rental houses.

It would be midweek days in October. Not sure of which week. I wanted to stay on beachfront property but since it is only for a few days I did not want to go through the security deposit and rental things just for a few days stay. Just wanted to make a reservation and not worry about it all.
I can see many towns on the NC coastal map. I want to stay on the beachfront but have things to do, especially in October when it won't be prime beach weather. Got any suggestions? Thanks

Any reviews on the Blockade Runner Beach Resort on Wrightsville Beach would be appreciated or any reviews on the hotels in that area will be appreciated. I know there is a Holiday Inn but it is a little more expensive.
Thanks

Hi Poneale,

One of the two has a better rating here (gee, that was helpful). If you search for Blockade Runner you should bring up a post that has a review of the place.

Morehead City is not ocean front, it's sound front. You would need to find a place in Atlantic Beach. However, there is more to do in the Wilmington/Wrightsville area. Click on my name and you'll find a recent post about what to do in Wilmington.

The Holiday Inn is almost brand new (a hurricane knocked the old one down) and I hear the BR has goen through some rehab. Both are expensive. I've always thought that all the hotels on Wrightsville are way too pricey for what you get.
