Worst meal in the US?

My family and I have now returned back to Sweden after almost two weeks touring in Montana and Wyoming.
Before entering Yellowstone, we stayed one night in Gardiner MT and went for dinner at "Red's Blue Goose Saloon". The restaurant was not full but the waitress told us that we had to wait for our meal for about 45 minutes. Unfortunately we accepted and ordered. When our meal arrived 1 hour and 45 minutes later the french fries were burnt and the steaks much more than well done. However, we were by that time so hungry that we ate what could be eaten. We later told the waitress that we didn't appreciate the meal at all. All she said was that she was sorry. The landlord was not to be seen at all.
When summing our tour up, we have appointed "Red's Blue Goose Saloon" as the worst restaurant we ever have been to in the US - and we have now been in the US four times and visited ten states.
Avoid "Red's Blue Goose Saloon" if you ever go to Gardiner MT!
We also stayed at Best Western Lupine Inn in Red Lodge MT and at CM Russel lodge in Big Timber MT
(Home of the Horse Whisperer) Very nice hotels with very nice people serving us. Recommended!

Sorry to hear about that. I'll keep it in mind.
Was your hotel in Gardiner as bad as the restaurant?

Oh No! Not at all!
We stayed at "Wilson's Yellowstone Hotel" and got a very nice room for about $48. We had a good view of the park entrance from the balcony and could also see some elks from there.

Apart from the bad meal, was it really worth going all the way from Sweden to see Yellowstone? It is indeed a long way to go.

Well, we didn't go to the Us only for Yellowstone.
We were there to visit friends. But Yellowstone was really something to remember. We saw a lot of grizzlies, blackbears, bisons, moose and elks and were even on the spot whith our cameras and binoculars when a coyote snapped a pronghorn calf from its mother. Not nice at all, but it is a strong memory!

Yellowstone is truly amazing. The geyers and mud pots are something you don't see in many parts of the world. There is also the "Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone" (river) that is very impressive. the wildlife in great numbers and the sheer size of the park can provide many days of site seeing if you have the time. Teton Nat'l Park is nearby and one of the most beautiful places you will ever see. Definitely worth seeing!

Sorry you had such a bad meal. My experience is that you seldom get bad meals if you stick to the big chains like Wendy's, Denny's and places like that.
You never get any gourmet meals there, but you always get a decent meal for a decent price.
