Woodbury Common is actually among the top destinations for foreign tourists, who often arrive with (or simply purchase) empty suitcases to pack up their goods. Its especially attractive for foreigners, who benefit from the excellent prices as well as the wide range of goods available there. Many tour groups do make the either a full day or overnight excursion. It's almost a must see for foreign tourists.

Following up on Doug's comment, I've seen surveys which list Woodbury Common as the second biggest tourist draw in New York state....second only to, of course, New York City!

I go to Woodbury Commons 2-3 times/year and can definitely second/third the previous comments about it being a major tourist destination! The shops lean more toward the upscale end but there are some unique stores there and so I would think it worth a stop. I also happen to like the stores in the outlet center at Wrenthem, MA. In both cases, if you decide to go, sign up for their club online (no charge) and you can print out additional coupons.

definitely worth it, not so much for the bargains, which were in the fair ranges but in selection. I live near Cabazon outlet, in California and I thought it was pretty good, but it doesn't compare with Woodbury which has many more designer's outlet. I make a point of going to the outlet stores in different parts of the world, the Woodbury one was even better than the one in Italy. I spent 2 days there one year out of 7 days holiday and it was barely enough. Going back again after 2 years during the Columbus holiday hope there are the additional discounts and sales.
