Winterthur tickets
We'll be going to Winterthur in late Sept. or early October. Is it necessary to buy tickets in advance? If not, would prefer to wait, as then we can go on the best day for touring the gardens. Thanks for any advice.

Not according to the website unless there is some sort of capacity control not mentioned.
You aren't confusing this with Longwood Gardens are you?

Dukey1: I know it's not mandatory to get tickets ahead, but was wondering, since we're going on a weekend, if we might not be able to get in right away if we don't have tickets in advance. Several people on this forum highly recommended getting tickets in advance for Nemours, so I was wondering if people felt it was helpful for Winterthur as well.

>>we might not be able to get in right away
If tickets for an introductory tour are not available immediately, there are plenty of things to do at Winterthur while waiting for your tour: walk the grounds, visit the museum, ride the garden tram.
If you are interested in the one or two hour reserved tour packages, I'd definitely call ahead to reserve.
They seem to have a generous ticketing policy:
>>Payment is due at the time reservations are made. Tours must be cancelled 48 hours in advance for a full refund. No refunds for Web sales. Tours may be rescheduled at any time.
