Why not mix activities in Wine Country? I'd agree with other posters who say limit it to two.
That said, you could also go for a hike at the Napa Boethe state park in Napa Valley, and follow it up with a picnic lunch on the grounds of one of the wineries. You and you spouse could taste there, and everyone would be having lunch together. Not so boring for your kids.
Word of warning... Napa and Sonoma can get really hot, like 90's hot, during the day. If the temps warrant it, you could investigate the Russian River area. You might go to a couple of wineries and then you cool off in the river.
