Will we be able to swim in So. Ca. in October?
Just wondering if we should pack our swimsuits when we visit Carlsbad in a few weeks. I just assumed it would be warm enough to play in the ocean but we all know what happens when you assume...
Thanks, Julie

Definitely bring your swimsuits. October is usually a wonderful month for swimming and Carlsbad is an excellent place to swim. (I say "usually" because we haven't had the greatest California summer this year. In fact, some people are referring to it as "the bummer summer".) But October is genrally very warm and pleasant.

I live in San Diego. October generally has the best weather of the year. The coast is usually free of fog and the days are warm and bright.
Swimming in the ocean is another story. It all depends on what you consider to be chilly water. Expect the water temparature to be around 68 which is much too cold for me.

Julie,
I live in LA and it has been a cool summer ( MOST people seem to be enjoying it). The water in the Pacific is cold. I went to Laguna Beach last week and I doubt it was above 65 degrees. I would bring a suit...if you can't swim you can stroll the beach and enjoy the ocena spray.( I did manage to get into the water, but it was invigorating to say the least!)
