Wild Dunes Properties

We've narrowed our summer vacation destination to Wild Dunes. Any recommendations on which property to choose? We'd like a 1-2 bedroom condo on the beach. Are there any properties that are newer/nicer than others? Any to avoid?

We stayed there 2 Easters ago. I can't recall the name of the building that we were in but it was a five story building with a red tile roof, not too close to the main area. Our unit was lovely until about day 3 when we discovered that a racoon was living in the master bedroom wall. Management was terrible to deal with. Turns out they rented to us, knowing that there was an unresolved problem in the unit. Other than this problem, frustration dealing with management and the lousy late April weather, that particular building was a nice one. The pool is not heated but shouldn't be a problem in the summer. If you pick that building make sure your room faces the pool (only the end ones don't) if that's important to you. The beach out front is beautiful and wider at that end than what I recall was closer to the center. Good luck.

Forgot to mention to the previous poster, Wild Dunes is in South Carolina, off the coast near Charleston.

Stephanie,

We have lived in Wild Dunes for 6 years. Have sent you an e-mail to your addy, but don't know if it's your real one or not! If you want me to post it here instead, let me know.

Check out:
www.wilddunes.com
AND
www.iop.net

The second one gives you all of the realtor listings for rentals within Wild Dunes.

Enjoy!

Even though it is one of the older properties at Wild Dunes, we like to stay at the Racquet Club Villas. They are 2 and 3 bedroom units. Our children are 10, 8, and 5 and this location is central to everything. You are steps away from the Sports Pavillion pools(the two nicest ones in WD), the golf course, and the tennis complex. Bike rentals, spa, and playground as well. You are a four to five minute walk to the beach. All areas are nice, we just like to be close to the activities. You really can't go wrong anywhere in Wild Dunes.
