" I am sorry but I really don't like this dish. Would it be possible to get something else".

Wow, that's a new excuse to me for sending back a meal. I understand if something is prepared wrong or the food is bad, but this is the reason so many menus spell out practically every ingredient these days. If a person orders something and just decides they don't like that dish -- it seems to me it was their problem, not the restaurant's. If you're unsure about something on the menu, but want to be adventurous and try it, then you take a risk that you won't like it.

I think I've posted this before, but one of my favorites was a table next to me sending back their "gorgonzola" salads because they tasted like blue cheese. They argued with the waitress, "don't tell us gorgonzola is blue cheese, we buy it all the time and it's nothing at all like blue cheese, we can't stand blue cheese".

Funny, Patrick! That reminds me of when Maytag bleu cheese was first coming into popularity out here. I can't tell you how many times a patron would say something like," you mean this was made by the same people that built my washer and dryer!?"

In my younger days, I worked for the restaurant that encourages you to eat with the KING. Their policy then was if meat is dropped on the floor, wash it off and run it thru the grill anyway, the heat will kill any germs!
The government says it is ok if ketchup contains bug parts as long as there are not more than 200 parts per bottle. YUCK
If I cannot identify what is on the plate it goes back. Chicken should look like chicken etc.
