Who has stayed at the Bellagio???
Looking for a nice hotel room. We'll be in Vegas the 1st week in April. We want a nice pool (hopefully it will be open then), and a nice room. We are not gamblers but we do enjoy warm weather, going out to eat, seeing the sights, and relaxing in the spa/room, etc. The Mirage really looks great (have never stayed there), but this new Bellagio sounds wonderful too. Please advise!! Thank you!!

Got to lvol.com (las vegas on line). They have a forum type area with first hand accounts of people who have stayed in Vegas and at Bellagio. From reading about it, I am ready to pack my bags. The show "o" is not to be missed and worth the $100 and then some by all testimonies. This Mr. Olwick has a wonderful long post of his trip there with details about the pool and even the carpets.

I just returned from a large convention in Vegas, and the Bellagio is absolutely the most ornately beautiful hotel I have ever seen. Even the standard rooms are the nicest accomadations I have stayed in. If you have a choice, stay there! The Mirage is nice also but not this caliber. The show "O" is visually stunning and the choreography is amazing. It's worth $100. Also, don't miss Danny Gans at the Rio if you can get tickets. Call ahead. Have a great time, I sure did.

My vote is for Mandalay Bay, the rooms are awesome with a tub big enough for two. The hotel itself is beautiful and the pool area there CANNOT be beat by any other in Vegas. They have a "beach" area complete with sand, palm trees, six-foot waves, and cocktails waitresses. They also have a lazy river and other traditional pools.
I agree that the Bellagio is gorgeous, but I can tell you that even during the week rooms are at about $300/night. Also, if you gamble even a little (I love blackjack!) everything there is expensive. - During the weekend they don't even have quarter slots (or they are very difficult to find)!
Definately see their show, "o". Also, Mandalay Bay has a great theater and is currently showing Chicago, which is incredible. Their theater is small and so any seat is a good seat.

I've stayed at the Venetian and Caesar's. If you're interested in a good pool, avoid the Venetian...Caesar's has a great pool. Haven't seen Bellagio's, but the hotel seems nice. You'll feel exclusive staying there.
I agree with what everyone said about "O". I went to Vegas last minute and couldn't get advance tickets, so I stood in the cancellation line for 3 hours (yes, THREE HOURS. I was by myself, and people watching is always fun in Vegas, so I didn't care.) The show was worth the $100 AND the 3 hour wait. If you do opt to go to the cancellation line, I recommend you go about 3 hours early...I went and wasn't even the first person in line. There are no guarantees that with the wait you will get in, but if you're near the front, you can feel safe betting on it.

Stay at the Bellagio by all means. We stayed there last year and can hardly wait to return. The suites are absolutely mindboggling (we stayed in a comped room; my daughter stayed in a suite with several other girls - one girl's wealthy grandmother picked up their tab.) The pools are beautiful although I'm not a swimmer nor a sun worshipper. If you are staying at the Bellagio, you can order tickets for "O" by phone earlier than others. The casino is quiet in comparison to loud raucous casinos, and I enjoyed it immensely; it's also right in the middle of things. One certain fact - wherever you stay, DON'T miss the fountains in front of the Bellagio at night. They're the most incredible spectacle Las Vegas has to offer. The best advice given to you is to check the discussion forum at www.lvol.com
