White Christmas

My 6 year old was worried last week about not having snow for Christmas. She received her wish. We have had a heck of a winter storm, freezing rain, a foot of snow, more freezing rain and snow. About 13" in my yard since yesterday. They have declared a level 2 snow emergency here in Columbus, with counties north and south, level 3 (only emergency vehicles.) There are blizzard warnings posted for counties just north of Columbus. Power is out for about 200,000 people here in Columbus. Thankfully, our power is on. My back yard looks like a winter wonderland. I am stocked with plenty of food, wine, beer and bailey's.

Anyone else having a White Christmas?

Truth be told Buckeyemom. Every year I fly to Ohio for christmas and every year, it snows, alot. Maybe not this much but enough to make it difficult.

Are things worse in Columbus than Cleveland? It looks like Hopkins is open and not to delayed.

I think a White Christmas is one of those things that sounds better on paper (and in song) than in reality.

My brother is scheduled to arrive later today and flights into Newark are already delayed and the delays are building.

Happy Holidays doc. Cleveland is worse than Columbus. They had Hopkins shut down while Port Columbus is still open. Hopkins was supposed to open up later this morning. Cleveland was under a level 3 snow emergency, not sure what the status is now.

A 30 percent chance of snow is predicted for San Antonio on Christmas Eve. Today, it is sunny, windy, and cold (27 when I awoke at 7A). There's always the hope so I'm keeping my fingers crossed!

Merry Christmas!

I had to run up to the grocery store to get a few last minute items and my car thermometer displayed 72 degrees and the humidity is awful. We're getting rain.

Hamburgers on the grill for dinner.

Cold front is supposed to roll in this evening.

buckeyemom, I hope your power holds out. Those storms looked horrible on the weather channel this morning.

They did interview one mom with an infant and a toddler and she said she had planned so well, the delays didn't bother her one bit. Good for mom!

Here in New Hampshire we have about 5" of snow from last week. However, today's big storm is being pushed north into Canada, bringing some warm (40's) weather and rain! Hope the rain stops before we loose all our snow!

54 degrees and raining in central NJ. Supposed to get wintery over night. Next time it hits the 50's in NJ it will most likely be March or April. YUCK!

It's white, but it's not snow. Rained here in Memphis yesterday morning while the temps dropped like a rock. Then, in early afternoon, it sleeted like crazy and didn't stop until 9pm. Put about 2 inches of solid ice over everything and now it's holding below freezing.

Supposed to drive to St. Louis tomorrow for Christmas. Very sloooowly, I think.

We are in Northern MN and there is snow everywhere. It is beautiful. However, temps have been below 0 (like -25) and it is very windy so not fun to be outside. Supposed to warm to above 0 in a few days so can enjoy skiing and snowmobiling then. Merry Christmas All!!

Northwestern WI checking in - this morning we had -15 degrees with a -25 degree wind chill. Some snow so we'll have a white Christmas as well. Merry Christmas!

The rain will be changing over to snow later this afternoon here in Buffalo. I cannot recall the last time we didn't have a white Xmas though. Usually it is a whiteout Xmas with zero visibility from the blowing snow.

Officially 21 in Louisville and headed for 4 tonight. We had snow, then a lot of sleet, then snow; and very little traffic is moving. We have postponed tonight's dinner with our kids until the roads clear, and our clan gathering at my sister's in the country will be New Year's Day instead of Christmas. Bah, humbug!

Jersey, you never know here in NJ...two days ago it was 11 degrees, today almost 60! Two days from now the forecast is for 17 degrees.

Could be 70 in a couple weeks and snowing two days later!

Ah the joys of the Garden State weather!

snowed yesterday in Dallas..everything was nice and pretty this morning with snow still on the ground.

All melted now - and supposed to be cold and sunny Christmas day and in the high 60's by Sunday - nothing like Texas weather
