Thanks so much for the information, StLgrrl. Now that Southwest is flying to St. Louis, maybe we can just fly us for a show sometimes. You have a pretty cool city!

For those that have enjoyed their time at Blueberry Hill, you'll be glad to hear that the owner (Joe Edwards) will have a hand in the new Bottle District.

http://www.thebottledistrict.com/main.cfm

He will copy the successful Pin-Up Bowl (in the Loop) and open a bowling alley in the Bottle District. Many other attractions going in there sound exciting. (I'm just bummed because this is where I used to tailgate for Rams games.)

Also: it sounds like The Loop will continue further east with more attractions. Supposedly the old mortuary between the Pin-Up Bowl and The Pageant theater (both owned by Mr. Edwards) will be turned into a hotel.

I'm not sure why the Fragile Forest is going through renovations: it just opened last year.

Also: the Metrolink has stops at both the main and east terminals. I'm not sure why you had to double back from the main terminal.

For better or worse, the Bottle District project has eliminated my Rams football tailgating spot

Hellooooo Amy Lou!

Jayne, thanks for this report, and thanks to everyone else who chimed in.

I'm going to start a new post.

My theory on our Amshack is that every year Amtrak's fate seems to hang by a thread, beholden to the whims of Congress, and the future is too uncertain to invest big money. But Oh, what a shame.
