Whidbey Island (WA) Restaurant

What are some of the good restaurants on Whidbey Island, for dinner on July 20? We want a light meal in a casual place--outdoor seating would be our choice if weather permits.

The first place that comes to mind is the Star Bistro in Langley. Most of the dishes are Mediterranean-style, and it is definitely casual, with a rooftop patio dining area.

Investigate the Whidbey Island Inn's restaurant. We stayed there about five years ago and ate in the restaurant. Fantastic view and excellent food!

JimF--Are you talking about the Captain Whidbey Inn? If so, yes, it is a great place!

That's typical of what a few years does to a great experience when one's memory is growing suspect! Yes, it was the Captain Whidbey Inn. Thanks for reminding me...

I love Captain Whidbey's! Haven't been in a number of years so I'm glad to hear it's still great. I don't remember them having outdoor seating though? A lovely dining room and very fun tiny bar in the back. It's also a wonderful place to stay BTW.

Thanks for the suggestions. I've checked them on line, and they look great.

I've heard excellent things about the Kitchen Restaurant at the Inn @ langley ( I think this is different than Captain Whidbey??)

Yes, the Inn at Langley and Captain Whidbey's are two different places.

Inn at Langley is top rate - but also very expensive. Last time I was there, too, they only took people staying at the Inn (though they might take reservations if they're not fille)

Captain Whidbey Inn, a short distance north of Coupeville, is a unique and delightful place. We toured the 1907 hotel rooms and dined on the deck overlooking the water. A great experience. Thank you.

Star Bistro, in Langley, had a sign on the door which read "Star Bistro is Closed," with no further explanation.

Dining at Inn at Langley is pricey. We ate there last year while staying at the Inn. We felt it was immensely overrated and a BIG disappointment. There was a new chef who had come from Seattle and didn't seem to have much imagination IMO. We did eat at Star Bistro and liked it. I don't think anyone has recommended the greek place in Langley yet. It's very good.

I'm not sure what the Greek place in Langley is but possibly it's the Cafe Langley whose menu looked very good. We didn't stay there but were in Coupeville and had dinner at Christopher's which was quite good.
