Which Vegas hotel for honeymoon?
We are looking at the hotel at mandalay bay and the signature mgm. Any opinions on either of these or other hotels to look at? We really like to be in the center of everything but also want a great suite. Oh and we are going in July and are trying to stay under 250 a night. Thanks!

If you want to be "in the center of everything" then you better look at a map. The Hotel (MB) is the farthest hotel at the western end of the strip. Mandalay Bay is a great hotel (stayed in their regular room) but it is NOT in the center of everything.
MGM is more central but still not the best location for what you want.
Have you looked at the Venetian?

If you want to be "in the center of everything", strike Mandalay Bay off your list. It's South Strip, fairly far from just about everything. Other than Luxor. Nice place, but that doesn't make up for the crummy location (in my opinion).
Signature at MGM Grand is technically off-Strip; MGM Grand itself is pretty far south on the Strip. However, it's another pretty nice property.
Mirage and Caesar's are both center Strip and acceptably swanky. Wynn is the Latest and Hottest five-diamond property on the Strip, and it's just a bit north of Mirage. Bellagio is another five-diamond resort, a bit south of Caesar's and quite posh indeed. The Venetian is also in this area, and it's snazzy too.
The problem in all of this? July in Vegas. Summer in the Nevada desert. If you're not used to desert heat, you'll be suffering. Something to think about.

Thanks! I knew that the hotel was at the south end but it looked so nice I figured it might be worth it. And I know how hot it is in july. I was there last summer. But thanks for the headsup anyway. I am going to look at prices on mirage and ceasars. They are more in our price range I think. Thanks again!

Congrat's niene!
July is usually when you start getting deals for the hot summer but understand with planning a honeymoon, the need to plan ahead..
Love the Wynn and deals can be had..
I checked on Expedia.com & resort room is $209 and they are wonderful rooms with great beds and linens..pool is wonderful and love that its really new..food is delicious and with you letting front desk know that this is your honeymoon, usually will get upgraded..join the red card club..

Bellagio is outstanding too and a lake view room was $249 very romantic.
The Hotel for a deluxe suite is going for $249 mid July..
IMO you don't need to be in the center of anything..cabs are great to get from hotel to hotel..cheap and with it so bloody hot..trust me..you don't want to walk anywhere unless its the pool..
You are going to have a wonderful time.

I would agree with Christie that if you are looking into Caesar's Palace, the Augustus Tower and the Palace Tower are the best ones. Augustus is the newer of the two and is very swanky and modern. Palace is also very nice, although not as new as the Augustus. All rooms are about 500 to 650 square feet and all have oversized bathrooms with a jacuzzi. Not all have two bathrooms like Christie's (sounds like she had a petite suite in the Palace Tower).

I have stayed at a lot of hotels in Vegas over the years and the best hotel that I have stayed at was the Venetian. I got a room last year on Priceline for $130 per night, regular rate was $165. You won't be dissapointed with either the rooms or the hotel. It's like a city within a city.
