Which place to skip?
It looks like we'll only have 2 full days so will have to eliminate one of the 3 places we had planned to see. Which would you choose--Cape Cod, Martha's Vineyard or Nantucket Island? Also, what can we expect of the weather in June? Thanks!

Stick to the Cape -- more variety, less time consumed getting to-and-from. Enjoy the Nat'l Seashore, putter around P'town, get the flavor of Truro, Welfleet, see the lighthouses esp. Highland and Nauset lights, enjoy stores and small community in Orleans, Chatham; history in Barnstable and Sandwich. Skip Hyannis (sorry).

I agree with Cassandra. There's so much to do around the I'd stay there. You can go to the National Seashore and see the cool dunes; hike around Nauset Marsh or White (something) swamp; bike the rail trail; explore Chatham, Provincetown or the small towns that dot the Cape. We've been going to the Cape every other year for about 10 years now and we still find neat stuff to do. I have been to Martha's Vineyard, but it is a time-consuming trip. If you only have one day, you wouldn't get to see much anyway, and you'd spend an awful lot of time dealing with ferry stuff.
In June the water will be cold. (But it's cold in July and Aug., too!)

It seems the other responders have somewhat ignored your original question. You mentioned you needed to eliminate one of the three destinations. I think they are telling you (and I would agree) that you really need to eliminate two of the three -- both Nantucket and Martha's Vineyard. Two days isn't enough to even begin to explore Cape Cod, so I'd avoid both of the islands and stick to just the Cape.

i'd stick to the cape but if you are determined, you have to go for martha's vineyard simply because it's a shorter ride. I wouldn't be headed to nantucket unless i had 2 or 3 full days there at least.
the cape has tons of stuff to see and do. rent bikes and ride the rail trail, or do the bike trails at the national seashore.
definately hit p'town too. it's all an experience.

Have to agree with all the above posters, especially Patrick who always seems to understand the question best.
I will add that people vacationing on Cape Cod who take a day to visit one or more of the islands are generally here for at least a week or more.
June weather on the Cape can vary even day to day. Bring sweatshirts and light jackets for the cool days and nights and bathing suits for the hot days.

Also agree with above poster, especially Patrick. However,if you're determined to visit one of the islands, there is a high-speed ferry to Nantucket, which makes the trip only slightly longer than the ride to MV, although more expensive. I always feel Nantucket is more manageable in a day because you have to take buses (or rent mopeds) to get from town to town on MV. But again, I'd stick to just the Cape if I were you. There's so much to see and do. I always get a good chuckle when people think the Cape is a place where you you do everything in a day or two. I think they're quite surprised when they actually get there!
