There have been some very positive reviews here on the Madison, reasonably priced, very clean, good location. Also the BW President is a good value. From the properties you have chosen it looks like you are working in the $85-$100/night range - true? Is Priceline an option for you? I'm only speaking of Priceline because you may be able to secure a more upscale hotel for the same amount of money.

Of the hotels you've listed, the Belvedere and the Best Western President are the two I know that are decent. The Best Western has just changed its name to the Majestic. Location of both is great (in mid-town,near subway). I would avoid the Howard Johnson's on 34th.

Good luck.

Priceline is great for one or two people, but there are no guarantees of more than a double room, which may have only one bed.
Have a look at biddingfortravel.com for detailed info about how much and when to bid. There's nothing to stop you bidding now with a low price and see whether you get a room. If not, try later on.
