Which cruise line on Alaskan trip
I am really close to nailing down a cruise to Alaska. From your experiences, which cruise line would you choose ... Celebrity Infinity or a Princess Cruise on Golden Princess and why. I will so appreciate your input. Both are round trip from Seattle.
Thanks

I did a 4 night Alaskan sampler cruise on the Golden about a month ago and enjoyed it...it wasn't a perfect cruise as the ship had just come out of dry dock but it was a good enough experience that I'd recommend the Golden.
I loved the scenery, so much so that I'm now looking into a longer Alaska cruise later this summer. I was looking at the Infinity but have been reading some reports that she needs to be refurbished so I'm leaning more towards other options. But I've heard good things about Celebrity in general.
Have you read posts and reviews on cruisecritic.com? I'd suggest doing so, and there's also a cruise forum on this board so you might want to post this on that forum as well.

Several years ago, I did an Alaska cruise on Princess and enjoyed it immensely. Since then I've sailed on Royal Carribbean and Celebrity in the Carribbean. Just comparing my experiences, Celebrity was a significant step above the other two lines in terms of quality of food and quality of entertainment. But of course the scenery is just as spectacular in Alaska from any ship.

You need to compare ports and itinerary. Princess doesn't "shine" on their round trips, but do a great job on their one ways.
There definately are superior routings to consider and it definately is not the "same" scenery "from any ship".

I cruised on Pricness year before last, one way Whittier to Vancouver. I had never cruised before, and it was fine. It was on the Pacific Princess, a smaller ship and I liked that. It was a bit run down and was on it's next to last cruise before going into dry dock to be refurbished before heading around the world.
My brother and SIL are right now on an Alaska cruise on Celebrity and they like that line. They have cruised several times and they thing Celebrity is better. They also got a great deal, discount on their cabin.
Try the cruise board on Fodors and Cruise Critic to perhaps get some better answers about the lines and the ships available for your cruise.
