Which Boston hotel Nine Zero or Omni Parker House
Hi,
My Husband and I will be in Boston at the end of June and want to stay at either the Nine Zero or the Omni Parker House Hotel. Can anyone give me some clues as to which one to pick. We have chosen these 2 because they are both very close to the train station, and due to health problems my husband can't walk long distances.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you

I stayed at the Parker House a few years ago, and it was okay, but a bit dated and worn around the edges. My impression is tha the Nine Zero is newer, nicer, more contemporary. Thats the one I'd choose, I think. But then, while I haven't stayed at that hotel, I also have a fondness for Kimpton hotels when I've stayed in them.

Of the two, I would also choose Nine Zero.
However, if you are doing it to be close to the T station across the street, adn for health/walking issues -
would you consider something like the Westin Copley Place? Also across from the T, but in a "mall" with many options for eating, drinking, window shopping, enclosed overpass to Pru Shops/restaurants/skywalk observatory/top of the hub/duck tours - and across street from Boston Public Library, Copley Place, Trinity Church - so there are other hotels also close to T stations and centrally located for someone with walking issues -
But Nine Zero gives you Boston Public garden and a few historical sites, the Westin might not be a bad thing to look at and at least consider.
We put my daughter and a few relatives up there just last weekend and the rooms were lovely with great views over Boston

Hi,
Thanks for all of your replies. I was leaning towards the Nine Zero. Then I read the reply from escargot and checked on the Westin. It is too expensive, $399/night for the week I will be there. But I checked other hotels near the westin and am also considering the Lexox or Fairmont Copley Plaza. Any feedback on either of these hotels would be greatly appreciated. I am most interested in finding out how close they are to the T stop and the quality of the hotel itself.
Thanks again for all your help

I enjoyed my stay at Nine Zero and liked the location very much. As said the T is very close, as well as many other parts of Boston. I paid around 210. if I recall per night on the weekend.
I found the least expensive way to book thru Expedia. Trip adviser has info and ratings of this and other hotels.

I just came back from a repeat visit to The Lenox,( I've probably stayed there about six times in the last several months) which is one of my favorite hotels anywhere. I stay there often due to business and family in Boston.
The Lenox is fairly small with lovely rooms, and beds so comfortable that you may not want to go home. Service is beyond superb, and the location is excellent.
The T stop is about a half block away from The Lenox. The Amtrak station is within a 10 minute walk. Newbury Street and all of it's shopping is only two blocks away. The Prudential Center Mall is three blocks down. And there are some really good restaurants within the area- Abe and Louie's Steakhouse (pricey, but actually worth the money), Atlantic Fish ( exellent seafood), and Turner Fisheries in the Westin Hotel ( also very good seafood, and fusion dishes).

I love the Nine Zero. Comfortable beds with lovely bathrooms and excellent toiletries by Mario Russo.
I stayed there for the second time in April and I love the clean contemporary decor. The rooms are very soothing and they now offer in room massage...
The restaurant is highly rated and the cocktail bar is pretty good too.

Copley and Lenox are both great choices. I just strolled by the newish Intercontinental on the waterfront and just love it this time of year. The have a lovely back patio with beautiful furniture and gas torches in the summer. A very festive area in the summer. Perhaps 2 blocks to Aquarium Station. Again, not sure what your need for the T is and if we can help you on that front.

Whenever we stay in Boston, I always book with Hotwire or Priceline.
With Hotwire, you can usually narrow down the possibilities on www.betterbidding.com (and ask for assistance if you like).
I've always been very, very pleased with Hotwire 4*'s in Back Bay/Copley or other area of my choice. The significant savings would more than cover taxi fares and you wouldn't have to worry about being close to the "T" or the steps in the stations.

The Lenox and Fairmont Copley are both excellent choices. You can't go wrong with either one, and you are close to many things and transportation -
The Copley is lovey - and has a great bar - enjoy a drink in there if you have time, even if late in day or before dinner - many nights they have music, ask for the schedule - also has one of my favorite steak restaurants, the Oak Room - family has stayed recently in this hotel and been most pleased. No personal experience with Lenox, but reputation is excellent

I also say you can't go wrong with either the Lenox or Fairmont. I think both are great. If I were in your shoes, I would work to get the best deal at each one and go with the one that came out most affordable. Oddly enough, the answer between the two can change based on dates and special rates so I'd call and just get what you can. You will not be disappointed, no matter which one come out as the best deal.
