I have spent $15,000 in five days in Las Vegas. However I have also come back from Las Vegas with an extra $50,000. I love that town.

Okay, No Big Deal, be cool. I read your reply very carefully, and if you insist, I will accept all you've said. I must admit I did try to get it to add up, but gave up. So, you spent $11,000 on the Mouse (sorry, I have this habit of thinking of him as the Rat). I was in Orlando this year at a meeting, at a pricey place, and the meals were high, and still, I wasn't anywhere nearly on a pace to equal your splurge. But if you've got it, flaunt it, as they used to say. But really, this entire thread seems kind of stupid. You hype about WDW, someone else about NYC and 14 or so shows in a few days. Where will it lead, I wonder. Hopefully, we'll see no more of this extravagance and bragging. Have a good day, and enjoy your next trip. Our family of 4, including two young boys, spent about $6,500 for a week at a dude ranch in Colorado. Before we looked into it, we never would have suspected that kind of vacation would cost so much. But we loved it and would do it again.

That's good Greg that you don't care who asked the question or why. Someone probably has tracked you right where you live, and even worse, if you are posting at work, your post can be read! Think your boss or coworkers can't find out what you are posting at work--think again! See the thread on posting at work. I bet they love finding out how much you spend on your vacations!

What kind of morons would spend $11K on Disney? The Alaskan cruise or African safari, I can understand. But Walt Disney World?????????????

The question was "how much is the most you've spent on a vacation?" Who are we to judge the answers to this post!

A couple of years ago, My husband had a convention at WDW at the Yacht and Beach Club. The five days our family of four was there were incredibly expensive!! Later that year we spent 10 Days in Washington DC and Williamsburg and were pleasantly shocked to find that we could do it for half the cost. The home of the Mouse is very expensive and I can see how one could easily spend over $10,000 grand there - especially if you are taking several kids. And if people want to spend that much it is entirely their business and their fun.

Our most expensive trip was to Bora Bora, Moorea and Tahiti - about $7,000 total. This was the best deal available at the time and included the nicest airline and accomodations. It was our 20th Anniversary and worth every $! Loved every minute!!

We spent $8,000 on our "once in a lifetime" anniversary trip to Tahiti, Moorea, and Bora Bora. It was incredible and worth it!

Hey Patrick, please post a report after your NYC trip; as a NYC resident, I'd be interested to hear what you thought of the various shows you'll see and restaurants you'll dine in--both for comparison's sake and for future reference! Hey, do a SF report too, if you feel like it--that's my "other home" (i.e., where the folks are).

Some people just consider WDW a vacation not worth splurging on. It's not like we go there every year..
Disney can be VERY expensive. Like I said, its all about what you want to do!

We love to travel every year, sometimes three to four times a year. We spend a total of $1500-$2500 on each vacation (including spending money sometimes). Cruising maybe more expensive.

This is a valid question, especially if one is trying to get a "feel" for what different areas/vacations might cost. Of course, the amount one can afford for travel is related to what one earns. I agree with others - if you earn a good living and can afford to splurge on a trip, DO IT! Unfortunately, I can't afford to spend a lot on travel, so I guess I'm envious of those who can, because I would love to travel more than I do. Anyway, my most costly vacation was also to WDW and Universal - spent about $2500, was there six days (the cost also includes travelling two days each way by car), three people. Worth every penny - consider it the best vacation I've had.

The most expensive vacation for me is Hawaii. Spent about- $7,000..airfare and hotel included. Lived it up.. What a wonderful trip! Would do it again in a minute!

Definetely Europe.. About $5,000 total for me and DH...

So far our most expensive vacation was our honeymoon in September--three weeks in France for about $6,000. (Well, worth it!)

Love to spend money $20,000 on Hong Kong, African Safari, Mediterrian Cruise...

Last Christmas, $2200 for husband and self and two semi-adult (18&22) offspring. 3 nights in Montreal (suite hotel downtown) & 3 in Quebec City (suite at Lowes) and one way out in the country at a guesthouse before we took a dogsled trip for the day. This included renting an SUV to drive there and back, meals out at good places, skiing at Mt. St Annes, and Christmas presents! The US dollar was really a good friend. A similar Christmas week trip to Cancun a couple years before capped out at about $3000. We did 8 days in Paris for two for about $2000 in 1998. This May we plan 3 weeks in Italy for around $6000 for two of us. It will be our most expensive yet, as well as the longest, but for your 25th anniversary you plan something special.
