Chet:

I am with you on this one, NYC or Disneyworld, too many people in both places. Vacations are to be used to get away from people.

jpm has jogged my memory to a place worse than Houston -- Harris Ranch on the 5 freeway in California. Horrible smell, and even if you put me up in the Presidential suite and served me caviar and champagne I wouldn't go.

Let's see... I think I'd even go to a theme park destination in the U.S. if it was a freebie - no one says I have to go to the theme park, right? The opportunity to go somewhere I've never been, see new things, meet new people, have new experiences, on someone else's nickel - I'm there! I do hope the hypothetical fairy godperson is springing for a business-class seat on the plane, though, as that would make the whole thing even sweeter!

Jamaica is the absolute worst place I've ever been followed by Orlando.

New York City? I'd like to meet the people who wouldn't want to go to one of the great cities in the world. But I guess they're the reason God created Denny's and Walmarts.

Buffalo with Dallas, Texas being a very close runner up. I did go on a free trip to Dallas and if offered another I would definately turn it down.

Oh and as for the remark on Philadelphia it is perhaps the most wonderful, amazing city in the States, it all depends what you do and what you see. I just went there in September and was extremely impressed with the city, the amount there is to do there and the friendliness of the people is better than any city I can think of...anywhere.
