Where to visit out west....help!

We are leaving September 12th for a vacation out west on our motorcycle. I'm not sure if we want to go down by the 4 corners, Rapid City, SD or where? Wer'e leaving from Chicago and only have 9 0r 10 days. Any suggestions on where to go is appreciated, thanks!

Little Big Horn Battle Field in SE Montana, then to Devil's Tower in WY, then down to Rapid City SD, we actually stayed in Hill City at mountainview lodge. All of this is within reach. Please post a trip report!

OOPPS since you are leaving from Chitown reverse this, also try stopping at Wall Drug in Wall SD and Badlands NP.

I agree with above poster re: Badlands National Park, SD (definitely!), Devil's Tower WY, and Little Bighorn Battlefield, Montana.

Oops! Hit post too soon...

You'll also be close to:

1) Custer State Park, SD (lots of buffalo to see, etc.)
2) Mount Rushmore, SD
3) Crazy Horse Memorial, SD

My vote is for Custer State Park. We were there last year and it was great, if you can take a couplr of the back roads in the park great scenery and lots of buffalo with no traffic.
