Fodor's must be acting up today. I started to respond to this earlier but didn't hit post because the link I put in wasn't working. When I tried to post again, the first post was showing up. So I apologize if both posts show.

There was another thread on this subject fairly recently that might be of some help to you. Unfortunately, when I tried to put in a link, it didn't work.

If you go to the search box and type in St. Louis the hill, that thread will come up.

Hope this helps!

Please do look at the other posts. But in addtion to that there is a brand new Hampton Inn & Suites right off HWY 40 (I64) acorss from Forest park/zoo.

This is not far for the exit for "The Hill".

Have fun!!!

Good Evening!

I would recommend staying at the Chase Park Plaza Hotel in the Central West End..it's on Kingshighway. You are not far from "The Hill" and you will love the area. You are also close to Forest Park...and you can enjoy the St. Louis Zoo and Art Museum. Our favorite restaurant on "The Hill" is Dominics. Another good restaurant, in the area, but not on "The Hill" is the Sidney Street Cafe. I grew up in St. Louis and go back to visit family a few times a year.

I can confirm that "The Hill" is a mainly residental area and has no hotels. The new Hampton Inn at 40 and Hamtpon Ave (how appropriate) is the closest good hotel.

There's a Holiday Inn and 44 and Hapton Ave. even closer to the hill, but Ive heard "meh" things about it.
