We stayed at the Victorian Inn last year during the week following labor day. It was clean, yet a little chilly. If I was going back I would go to the Black Bear Manor. We met the owners and looked around the property and it was great. Since we got in town late and was only there one night, we ended up at the Victorian. It was around $75 a night at the time. The Black Bear is a little higher.
I would not recommend Weisbaden - we looked around there too and we were not impressed.
Have a great time - Ouray is one of my fav's ever!

We stayed at the Victorian Inn one vacation. It was nice. We were on the 2nd floor and sometimes you could hear people clomping up and the down the stairs.
It was really hot when we were there that year (high of 90) and they didn't have air conditioning.
Our last vacation we stayed at the Comfort Inn. That was fine - basic hotel room.

Karens, we stayed at the Ouray Comfort Inn about 5 years ago. I'm wondering if the owners are still clean freaks? I'm all for a clean hotel room, but there were notes all over the place about not getting the towels dirty and "crazy for clean" signs in the office. It was really weird and more than slightly annoying.
They also had a large, unfriendly dog that we were told was friendly. It growled at my young son and of course the owner wanted to know what my son had done to the dog. Besides looking at the dog, nothing. I don't let my children pet unfamilar animals.

wtm - no, I don't remember the clean signs and I definitely don't remember the growling dog! The two wouldn't seem to go together!
The owner did get a bit miffed at us b/c one afternoon we told the housekeeper to come back in 20 mins. and she didn't understand English and she started leaving the bldg. When we explained this to the owner/manager, he called her back but acted like we did something really annoying.

We stayed at the Victorian Inn and overall I'd give it a thumbs up.
We had a very large king suite on the 2nd floor that had a king bed in the front room and another king in a bedroom. It had a fridge, no a/c (but we didn't need it). The good things were that it looked newly renovated and was in good shape, the back bedroom faced the river so we could listen to it at night, it had a good sized fridge, comfortable beds and is in a quiet area on the edge of town. The not so good things were the pathetic breakfast (but it was free) and the noise from people walking on the outside walkway late at night. They offered an AAA discount so the total was $117 per night, which I thought was a good deal.
